How can we refine methods and measurements to evaluate brain dynamics?

Many of the brain changes that matter are often subtle and thus challenging to measure. Part of our effort focuses on improving upon existing tools and techniques, to further our understanding of typical and disordered brains.

What are the mechanisms underlying neural and behavioural change?

Our brains evolve constantly, either due to natural development across the lifespan or as a result of interactions with our environment. We aim to better understand the mechanisms underlying these changes, and how these lead to cognitive changes, in health and disease.

How can we design interventions to improve mental and physical health?

A better understanding of brain dynamics has important, tangible applications. By focusing on the variability inherent to behavioural and neural systems, we hope to facilitate the design of personalised approaches to intervention.
